Enjoy more performance and less clutter with Philips Ambisound™ technology LAS VEGAS - Simplicity is being surrounded by sound - not speakers. Acknowledging the success of its award-winning Ambisound technology, Philips is expanding its acclaimed collection with two new home theater systems at the 2008 Consumer Electronics Show. The Ambisound Home Theaters- HTS6100 and HTS6515D - integrate the latest audio technology with a multi-channel amplifier, DVD player and iPod® dock. This is all packaged in a sleek, brand new design, unveiled at CES. These new products build on the already successful and positive reputation of Philips' HTS8100 and HTS6600, both featuring Ambisound technology, which boasts HDMI™ connectivity with true high-definition video up-conversion, representing the future in home theater innovation. Raising the bar in home cinema, embracing surround sound Ambisound uses a host of proprietary innovations to achieve full surround sound performance with fewer speakers - and less clutter - than other systems. For maximum audio quality and clarity, the Ambisound system has DoubleBASS,™ which results in deeper bass performance, and FullSound™ features for improved MP3 audio quality. In addition, users will enjoy the Smart Surround™ feature, which automatically ensures correct surround-sound settings for movies or music. Ambisound technology features several options for source inputs: USB Direct streams music and photos from USB flash drives, the MP3 line-in plays songs from portable media players and HDMI™ inputs showcase pure digital audio and video. Delivering simplicity, the EasyLink HDMI Consumer Electronics Control (CEC) offers convenient control of devices with one remote. "Philips' Ambisound™ and Ambilight™ FlatTV products give you the power to lose yourself in an immersive cinematic experience. The joint performance of sound and video pull you away from reality," said Andy Mintz, senior vice president, marketing management AM/VM, Philips Consumer Lifestyle North America. "Ambisound products offer a complete design solution without the fuss of cables and speakers cluttering the living room." High-performance system enhances living room décor Philips' HTS6100 DVD home theater system with Ambisound technology features a full, 5.1 multi-channel surround sound experience through a one-piece, fully-integrated home theater system that fits perfectly under a FlatTV™ display. An iPod dock is also included to enable users to charge, play and control iPod content while it plays on the Ambisound home theater. In addition to the latest audio and video technology, the Ambisound system can be easily mounted on a wall underneath a FlatTV display or placed on a stand. Featuring a single, central receiver and subwoofer, there is no risk of cluttered space or tangled speaker wires and Philips' HTS6100 perfectly complements any FlatTV display. Like its companion models, Philips' HTS6515D also features a 5.1 surround-sound experience, HDMI digital connectivity and an integrated iPod dock. The HTS6515D's sleek vertical design offers consumers another stylish and elegant option that reduces clutter. Philips' HTS6100 and HTS6515D will be available in May 2008.
