Free your digital music for use all over the home with Philips Streamium® systems

LAS VEGAS
- Any room can be an individual concert hall- controlled wirelessly from one extraordinary device. Philips' Streamium systems help music escape the confines of a PC or CD collection and be showcased wirelessly in up to five rooms. The result is a virtual jukebox that sets the mood for a relaxing night of jazz, a party or an evening at the symphony - all at the same time.

Philips' Streamium WACS7500 hub and WAS7500 extenders feature a contemporary design that adds a refreshing touch to any home music system. Philips' WACS7500 can be the music core of the home. With stylish framing, the 80GB1 hard disk drive stores up to 1,500 CDs, has an LCD screen that displays track information and USB connections with 40 percent more sharpness. It can also connect to up to five wireless extenders, fully synchronized for separate or combined use. The WAS7500 stations allow users to broadcast the same track to each room simultaneously or move from room to room as the music follows. An optional iPod® dock further expands content options.

"With the addition of Philips' WACS7500 wireless home music system to Philips' Streamium family, users can now free their music from any device, source or even media, to more easily enjoy their music wirelessly all throughout the home, combining Hi-fi sound quality with state of the art design," said Wiebo Vaartjes, general manager, Audio & Multimedia Applications, Philips Consumer Lifestyle.

Through Wi-FI® technology, consumers are given instant and easy access to their CD libraries as well as their MP3 files at the simple touch of a button. Just rip CDs directly to the WACS7500 hard drive or transfer music tracks from PC wirelessly. The Streamium hub can then manage up to five independent streams of content at once, sending a different stream to each extender. The color LCD display showcases CD/album art in vibrant full color.

Looking to enjoy Internet radio beyond the confines of a computer? The Streamium line provides a way to remove the limitations of a PC and experience Internet stations in sonic glory in every nook of a home, while also providing a link to the thousands of Internet radio stations now available; all without the need for a PC. The WAS7500 stations - suitable to be placed anywhere in a home - feature quality sound performance including a Super Sound Panel™ and built-in woofers for deep bass sound.

Ready out-of-the-box, users simply plug in the main unit and the system will automatically search and connect the extender to the hub. The Streamium models also feature an Ethernet PC connection enabling consumers to backup the system's hard disk, upgrade features or download existing tracks from a PC. A two-way wireless remote completes the wire-free experience, allowing people to easily navigate their music system from the comfort of their sofa or anywhere else in the room.

Philips' WACS7500 and the WAS7500 will be available in April 2008.
